The SPJFC have been supportive of the umpire talent pathway over a long period of time.

In 2003 Darryl Sinclair was appointed as Umpire Development Coach at the WAFC in a casual role and due his involvement at the Stingrays provided the club with an opportunity to promote umpiring in a positive manner. Darryl then became the State Umpires Coach which provided our club a greater insight to umpiring.

Since those times the Umpiring path way has been taken by many of our former players who have gone on to umpire at District, WAFL and AFL level.
